theOlanguage. Geray Mena
Press release
We are pleased to present TheOLanguage, Valladolid-born artist Geray Mena’s first solo exhibition in Luis Adelantado’s Boiler Room.
In TheOLanguage, Geray shows explicit interest in the artist’s workshop as the epicentre of creation, as a level zero where everything starts; it is that reiterative place where ideas become matter and are then transformed before the artist’s gaze into a work of art in itself.
Geray’s exhibition presents a series of images and collages in which we find some of the artist’s fundamental visual references—always by means of a subjective plasticity—, intermingling with elements that inhabit his studio, a large part of them logically related to the world of photography and other adjacent scopes.
As the artist explains, this is an installation-based exhibition that assembles pieces of furniture in which image and object share the same surface, thus creating an illusion where the second and third dimensions come together, as well as binding photography and objects.
TheOLanguage is an installation where elements linked to a young contemporary vision converge, interacting with a series of images showing various micro-universes that reflect Geray Mena’s view.
