Ana Esteve Reig
Bio
The work of Ana Esteve Reig (Agres, 1986), develops mainly in the field of video art. Through her productions, the artist addresses issues such as the construction of social archetypes, identity as something not stable, the dichotomy between reality and fiction, and social dynamics in virtual reality.
With a strong interest in fiction, Esteve Reig approaches the role of the individual as a subject that belongs to a collective and complex reality through its cultural manifestations, its rituals and customs. The artist writes the script and elaborates the final montage in depth, meticulously selecting the locations, set and performers.
Her work has been recognized with the BBVA Video Art Creation Multiverse Scholarship, and has been recipient off aid from both the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Community of Madrid. She has also been finalist for the BMW 2023 Award and had a recently solo exhibition at Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid , her work has also been exhibited in important institutions such as; the Instituto Valencià d’Art Modern de Alcoi, Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo and the Espai d’Art Contemporani de Castelló (EACC), among others.
