Boiler Room. Quarto quente. Sara Ivone
Nota de prensa
Luis Adelantado is pleased to introduce the Portuguese artist Sara Ivone and Quarto quente, her first exhibition in our Boiler Room. For this exhibition, the artist is presenting a collection of abstract works on paper, together with a series of installation pieces.
Sara’s education was obtained in both the plastic and musical fields, roots which are in constant relationship in her work. The fluid gesture of her drawings evokes delicate landscapes that are born of a very intuitive vision. The nature of the pieces presented is therefore somewhat melodic, since it follows the dictates of sound and painting, in gestural terms.
Our perspective, however, is that which will complete a joint and rhythmic vision of the Quarto quente project, where a reference is made to the meaning of Boiler Room. It is therefore an open and dynamic space, where colour takes ownership of the space.
For Sara Ivone, words are abstractions with sounds, and sounds in turn have their particular colours. Hence her two—dimensional drawings—as well as those which become independent in order to make themselves visible within the space-force us to listen to them and not so much to see them; or better said: to see them as if we were listening to them. They search for themselves within the space as words that come together in a sentence to gain a poetic nature.
